Matt Bartel
Matthew D. Bartel joined the ALFN in December 2002 and continues to lead the association in his current position as President & CEO. In his current position he manages all day to day operations and management functions of the association and works with the board of directors in developing and directing strategic opportunities. His 20+ years of experience at all levels in association management has given him a deep level of knowledge and ability to excel in managing associations. This experience and his keen leadership abilities have continued to be an asset to the ALFN. Mr. Bartel's skills are a critical element of the ongoing development and implementation of the ALFN's various national educational offerings, and in keeping the associations footprint as the largest of its kind in the mortgage servicing industry.
Mr. Bartel is recognized as a national leader and dynamic business professional in the Legal and Financial Services Industry, with over 20 years experience in association management, leadership, marketing and operations among others. He has enjoyed management positions in various other industries such as retail and e-commerce. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration & Economics from Central Methodist University. In addition, he has AAS degrees and One Year Certificates in both Business Management and Marketing from East Central College.
Mr. Bartel has spoken at various industry events, and has appeared in national financial publications. In addition, he has appeared in the St. Louis Business Journal and Washington Missourian. He also previously participated in an international televised Financial Series on CNBC's World Business Review with General Alexander Haig.
Mr. Bartel currently holds active memberships in the MBA (Mortgage Bankers Association), ASAE (American Society of Association Executives) and SLSAE (St. Louis Society of Association Executives). He has also been an active participant on various industry committees, including several industry conference committees and charity functions that also included serving on the Hunter’s Hope Foundation committee with former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly. Mr. Bartel also served for 6 years as a board member for the YMCA. Mr. Bartel currently resides outside of St. Louis, MO with his wife and 2 children. When he is not working, Mr. Bartel enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching movies, playing golf and traveling.
