ATLANTA July 25, 2022 – McCalla Raymer Leibert Pierce, LLP is proud to announce the appointment of Elizabeth DeSilva as Fellow to the American College of Mortgage Attorneys. ACMA is made up of 500 lawyers in North America who are experts in mortgage law. ACMA Fellows share a commitment to giving back to their profession, improving and reforming laws and procedures affecting real estate secured transactions, and raising the level of professionalism of lawyers practicing in this area.

According to the organization ACMA Fellows have distinguished themselves as practitioners in the field of real estate mortgage law through their skills and practice experience, bar association activities, lecturing, authoring articles and program materials, participation in the legislative process, and writing briefs and/or arguing cases that are significant to mortgage transactions.

Ms. DeSilva stated “I am extremely honored to be recognized by my peers for this nomination and acceptance as Fellow in the American College of Mortgage Attorneys. Being acknowledged for the years of dedication to this profession is truly moving.” Ms. DeSilva continued, “I look forward to this next chapter in furthering my experience and giving back to an industry that has given me so much.”

Elizabeth DeSilva joined McCalla Raymer Leibert Pierce, LLC as Deputy General Counsel in 2020. Ms. DeSilva has over twenty years of experience in residential real estate as well as mortgage banking. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. DeSilva worked for some of the largest residential and mortgage banking companies in the country. She spent the last five years as Vice President and Chief Servicing Counsel of Ditech Financial, LLC. While at Ditech, she was responsible for legal oversight of the Attorney Oversight Department which managed the default attorney referral network.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. DeSilva handled several national/multi-state State Attorney General investigations and related consent judgments. Her work involved representing her clients before the CFPB, DOJ, EOUST and HUD.

As Deputy General Counsel, Ms. DeSilva tracks all litigation for the firm and ensures compliance with state and federal law, administrative and client requirements. Ms. DeSilva is a graduate of Texas Tech University School of Law, she received a Juris Doctor, in addition to a BS in Government & Business from Texas Woman's University.
