Philadelphia, PA — Today, two leading default services law firms announce their merger, creating an eight-state, women-owned firm with a geographic footprint stretching from New York to Florida. The combined firm will operate under the McCabe, Weisberg & Conway (MWC) brand with Laura O'Sullivan, Esq., Margaret Gairo, Esq., and Steve Clarfield, Esq. as majority shareholders.

Effective August 1, MWC will have GSE-compliant operations in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. The merger combines the two firms' existing New York operations and brings a robust Florida-wide practice into the mix. Headquarters will remain in Philadelphia, PA., and nationwide MWC will employ nearly 600 full-time attorneys and staff.

“Florida has always been the core focus of my firm. With this merger, I will now have the support, synergies, and efficiencies of a larger, multi-state operation which has been in business for 40 years,” says partner Steven Clarfield, Esq.  “Margaret, Laura and I are excited to implement our ‘Firm of the Future' model whereby we combine the absolute best aspects of COS and MWC.  This is an exciting development for both firms and we're looking forward to the next forty years of serving our clients and leading this industry.”

“Steve built his practice from the ground up in one of the country's most competitive markets. He's the partner we've been looking for in exactly the right place – Florida. His client-first philosophy, efficient operations, exceptional legal team and industry experienced executive operations team, match perfectly with the culture of MWC. We're thrilled to be serving our clients in Florida now and we couldn't be more excited about our partnership with Steve,” says partner Margaret Gairo, Esq.

Firm operations will continue uninterrupted throughout the integration process. The Florida practice will be fully integrated into the wider MWC operation by October 1, 2017 with a firm-wide deployment of an industry-leading and highly automated and customized case management platform. A new escalation chart with updated email addresses and phone numbers will be distributed directly to clients.
