Advocacy Day

ALFN ADVOCACY DAY
ALFN's Advocacy Day is periodically held in April in Washington, D.C., to discuss the legislative issues that have an impact on our businesses and the larger financial services industry, and educate our members of Congress.  We last held this event in April 2017 in partnership with USFN and NCBA.

Amplifying Advocacy: Advocacy Day is designed to offer attendees a look at the regulatory and legislative landscapes affecting the mortgage banking industry. With a balanced approach to both legislative and regulatory affairs, attendees receive forward-looking legislative insights and an understanding of the “here and now” as regulators interpret, write and implement new rules governing the mortgage banking industry and its practitioners. Afternoon Hill visits with members of Congress complete the day's exciting activities.

TODAY'S COMPLIANCE-FOCUSED CREDITORS' RIGHTS ENVIRONMENT REQUIRES A ROBUST UNDERSTANDING OF REGULATORY ISSUES AND WELL-INFORMED PRACTITIONERS THAT SUPPORT RESPONSIBLE LEGISLATIVE EFFORTS ON THE HILL, AT THE STATEHOUSE AND ACROSS THE INDUSTRY.

Advocacy Day is a grass roots advocacy effort focused on issues specific to creditors' rights law firms, their clients and the regulatory burden faced by the industry. Advocacy Day includes face-to-face dialogue with nearly 100 members of Congress and representatives from industry regulators such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Federal Housing Finance Agency.
