2010 ALFN & REOMAC Legislative Day

We invite you to pull up a chair with your legislator and help raise awareness of the present environment and resulting changes of the residential loan servicing industry. This half day event will offer opportunities to better understand public policy issues and the federal legislative process, provide education on crafting/articulating key messages for advocacy and meet face-to-face with elected Members of Congress and/or their key staffers.

The event will kick-off at 1:00 p.m. from the Grand Hyatt Washington DC, with an introduction on the importance of staying on-message and how to have an effective meeting with a member of Congress, while expressing your legislative objectives. Next, we will break out into pre-assigned small teams and attend the confirmed meetings with the various Members of Congress and/or their key staffers (final schedules will be emailed, to confirmed participants, one week prior to the event). During these one-on-one meetings you may educate and convey your opinions on the mortgage servicing industry and the issues we are all facing. Following the meetings, a networking event will be held back at the Hyatt where the participants will have the opportunity to network with each other and members of Congress.

We are pleased to announce, that as one of the many member benefits our organization offers, there will be no registration fee to attend. However, in support of this important initiative, we have created sponsorship opportunities which you may contribute to. These opportunities can be found within the registration form.

SCHEDULE:

1:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. - Welcome, Introductions, Discussion of Issues & Briefing on "Communicating with Members of Congress and their staffs" - Meet at the Constitution Ballroom at Grand Hyatt Washington.

1:30 p.m. - Depart for Legislative Appointments on the Hill

2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. - Legislative appointments with Members of Congress and their staff (number of appointments may vary). Located at their designated offices. Business attire is appropriate.

4:45 p.m. -5:30 p.m. - De-Briefing Session. Meet back at Constitution Ballroom at Grand Hyatt Washington.

5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. - Networking Reception - Constitution Ballroom at Grand Hyatt Washington
